The Penthouse Suite offers the ultimate island retreat in Maine. The suite’s private rooftop deck features a hot tub and gas fire table plus stunning panoramic views of the ocean and mountains of Acadia. This private enclave has been recently renovated and encompasses the entire third floor of the main building. It includes a living room, kitchenette, bedroom, and bathroom, making this a posh sanctuary that you will never want to leave.
Step into the sunlit living area with skylights and cathedral ceiling. Sink into the comfortable couch while watching a fire in the fireplace. Enjoy the simple elegance of the kitchenette complete with a wine fridge, mini fridge, microwave, and coffee maker. Stay cool on hot Maine days with AC flowing throughout the suite. Watch TV from in the living room or bedroom.
After an adventurous day exploring, settle into the queen bed in the separate bedroom. But not before spending time in your private spa bathroom. A spacious, glass-enclosed area features a large Roman tub and rain shower. A make-up desk and double-sink vanity complete the space.
Complimentary Wi-Fi is also included, making the Penthouse Suite a magical home away from home for vacationing and remote work (but only if you wish!). Work from the bright and airy desk area in the bedroom or take calls from the couch in the living room. Embrace the peaceful, clutter-free environment to achieve maximum productivity. Although you might never want to leave the comfortable accommodations inside, you will undoubtedly feel the pull outside to the deck and your private hot tub and lounge area. Home to one of the best views in Southwest Harbor, your outdoor suite is an ideal location near Acadia to watch the sunrise. Two outdoor sofa beds, two sun loungers, and a sitting area next to the jacuzzi invite you to settle in and unwind. During the day, relax in the sun with a drink in hand, or nap on a lounge chair in the shade of the gazebo. Watch the sunset over the mountains from the private jacuzzi with a glass of wine in hand. Cozy up by the fire table in the evenings as you revel in one of the best places to stargaze on Mount Desert Island.

- A Full Complimentary Breakfast served daily in the common room, is included with your stay. Guests staying in the Penthouse Suite may arrange for breakfast in bed.
- Reservation policy – Deposits must be received within 7 days for one night or half of the total due, whichever is greater. Balance for all reservations is due upon arrival. Accepted forms of payment are credit cards, cash, or personal checks.
- We are a seasonal inn open May 1st through October 30th. Low Season is May 1st-June 14th and High Season is June 15th – October 30th.
- The inn is an adult only environment and only accepts guests 16 and over.
- If there are more than 2 guests in your party please contact us directly, so we can explain the options we have for additional sleeping arrangements.
- All rates are subject to 9% Maine Sales Tax.
- Cancellation policy – Any cancellations received within 15 days of arrival, no-shows, or early departures are subject to a fee equal to the amount of the deposit required at the time of booking. Any cancellation from the time of booking up to 15 days prior to arrival will result in a full refund of the deposit minus a $75 administrative fee.
- Check out at 11 am. Check-in from 3 – 8 pm. Please call if you intend to arrive later.
- Housekeeping – Fresh towels will be provided each day during your stay unless you prefer not to have this service. Sheets will be changed every third day during your stay.
- We have a No Smoking Policy, conforming to all state regulations.
- Sorry, no pets.
- Lindenwood Inn is a historical property built in 1904 and thus does not have accessible features.
